Why pay 5% commission? Mr Lyons provided with his Kahootz partner great advice for the sale of our current residence in Riverside South; advising us when best to put our home on the market, setting a realistic and achievable asking price based on years of experience and intimate knowledge of Riverside South’s residential market. They were right, we had lots of interest in our townhouse and sold in no time. Entering the seller market at the right time, a realistic asking price were key to our selling and removing the “first right of refusal” worries when looking at a future property. Tim is an amazing real estate agent. He is down to earth and very easy to talk to. He really knows how to read people. In a matter of three days he was able to get a sense of my husband and I and what we wanted in a first home. July 2, 2011 I received an unsolicited e-mail from Tim after unsuccessfully attempting to sell my home privately in Ottawa while residing in Toronto. His was one of a number of unsolicited e-mails from agents which I was tempted to ignore. I’m very glad I didn’t. Tim and I discussed in detail what would be a reasonable asking price when compared to what neighbouring homes had sold for. I intuitively felt that the number was right and that he wasn’t simply telling me what I wanted to hear. I had received a couple of evaluations from other agents which I knew were unrealistically high. It was our first time selling and buying a home. Being new to the process, we were unsure of what to expect and how to navigate the Ottawa real estate market.
